Experience
30 Years of Business Experience in Public Education

Cecil Harris began his career as a high school teacher and coach and advanced to a supervisor position with the LA Department of Education before transitioning to the private sector.

Education
Master’s Degree in Education from SLU

Cecil Harris attended college on a basketball scholarship and received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southeastern Louisiana University.

Service
Six Years of Service on the Livingston Parish School Board

Cecil Harris has served on the board for the past six years, including two years as the elected board president.

  • Added NEW CLASSROOMS to support growing student enrollment.
  • Expanded STEM & ROBOTICS CENTER, offering more learning opportunities
  • Improved CAMPUS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES for greater efficiency
  • Supported a transparent, third-party analysis of the district’s budget and spending priorities
  • Improved and expanded ALL ATHLETIC FACILITIES on Denham Springs High School Campus
  • Added SROs (LPSO Deputies) to all campuses in the Denham Springs area for greater safety
  • Added VAPE DETECTORS to all campuses in the Denham Springs area for greater protection
  • Added CAMERAS to all campuses in the Denham Springs area for safety and transparency
